"Yes and then What", Discussion Board: Week Two Discussion (Due: Nov 7 Status: Not Completed)

Week Two "Yes and then What", Discussion Board:

Okay, since I know you are all busy working on you First Act---I want us to have a little fun with the Week Two Discussion board.

We are going to play an interactive writing game.

It is called Yes and then What?

It's an improv game.

The way we will do it here is that, based on a line of dialogue that I will provide, you each have to respond to the last person that posted.

So the first person to write in will use my line of dialogue in a story and then each person will write off of it. (250 word limit per post)

The goal is to take what the last person wrote and write something creative and funny.

The rules are that you have to accept what the person who posted before you has said, and THEN take it in a unique, new, and funny way.

It's okay to be creative but don't get so outlandish that you leave nothing for your peers to work off of. The goal is to give your peers good material to write from.

Again- you have to write based on what the last person wrote so that it will be a continuous chain. And if someone creates a character and gives him/her a name you have to stick with that name.

Whatever is said becomes the "truth" from which you will work. You can change it if it is done in a logical and entertaining way. For example if I say Jonny is 8 then you can't make Jonny 20 in the following piece you write.

I may or may not chime in (only if I feel I need to intercede for some reason), but just think of me as another student writing in. And keep going.

By the end you should have posted twice, but make sure that you get your first post in by Wednesday 11:59PM EST and your second post in by Sunday at 11:59PM EST.

Please try to not post two back to back posts, so make sure to time it so that you will be following one of your peers and not yourself.

Good Luck and have fun!!!

The line of dialogue is:

"I never thought I'd milk a cow."

So the first person to write in will use this line of dialogue.

Remember-don't over think this, just write and have fun.

Response Due:
